Our company has started fresh fruit & vegetables business activities by Mr.Abdullah Polat in 1964 in a small Anatolian city. In 1991 'Polat Trading* is established in Mersin Fruit and Vegetables Wholesale Market and has started operating for whole Turkish local markets. In 2005 we have opened our own citrus packing station in Mersin city. Since that period we continue improving our fundamentals and capacity for giving better service to our clients. In this context, we have bought a fully new packing line with capacity of 20-28 tones/hour packing. With 2008 - 2009 citrus season, our new packing line will start to give service. Also we have entegrated a drencher system to minimize the postharvesting diseases. We would like to emphasize that we will nonstop continue our investments and facilities to supply regularly basis of healthy and good quality of merchandises.
Under our group we have company of Yasar Akpolat1, which is established in North/Turkish side of Cyprus and has operating our facilities in this region. Yasar Akpolat company has successed to take first place in North Cyprus's biggest quantity of exportation in 2006, 2007 and 2008 seasons (in 2008 18.750 tones of citrus) and will continue to take one of the leading place in this region. We supply totally 15.000- 20.000 tones of citrus during Cyprus season; Valencia Oranges, Mandora Mandarins, Yafa Oranges, Lemons, Grapefruits, and we also supply Fresh Patotoes. In our packing station we also have a modern girsack/netbng machine. With having 5.600 kg/hour capacity of 1 kg netting, it lets us to supply nettings for long term contracts and on regular basis to our clients.
Our production, packing and export activities are approved with ISO 22000. Currently we have 10 hectares of Lemon
orchards and already started our operations to get EURAPGAP for own production. We aim to improve the percentage of
approved EURAPGAP certification in our whole export volume.
Polat Citrus has been operating for short period in export business but in this short period of time, we have succesfuly
entered huge areas of markets like Russia, Ukraine, Iran, Iraq, Macedonia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Poland and already
have experiences in export business in Germany, Moldova, Belarus, Kazakhstan , Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, etc. Our mission is
supplying fresh and quality merchandises to our partners regularly and improving our possibilities in production, packing
and logistics.
