Proted manufactures prosthetic-orthotic products with experience in the sector since 20 years. The company started to work as a prosthetic-orthotic rehabilitation center in Ankara, Turkey in 1992. The most important factor in the starting of manufacturing prosthetic-orthotic parts is that the company wanted to decrease the dependency of Turkey to import products, and that Ilhan Sahin, the founder of Proted, was an academician working in this area in the Hacettepe University in Ankara as a mechanical engineer, who saw the necessity for such production activities in Turkey, and had the technical know-how for the development of these products.
Today, Proted is the leader manufacturer of this sector in Turkey, and one of the well-known companies in Europe. Proted provides the prosthetic-orthotic products to many institutions such as GATA (Gulhane Military Medical Academy), TSK Rehabilitation Center (the Turkish General Staff Rehabilitation Center), Hacettepe University and Gazi University, known as the leading centers for prosthetic-orthotic rehabilitation in Turkey. Proted also exports its commodities to many countries succesfully..
Proted carries on its manufacturing, managing and rehabilitation works in its new building which is built with modern architecture and has 4000 m² closed area in the industrial zone. Proted employs 35 workers in its own facility. Proted has been applying the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003 Quality Management Systems in the processes as management and manufacturing.
